Solarcomplex AG is an EPC and O&M service provider with around 80 employees, based in Singen in southern Germany. The company designs, builds, and operates plants for the supply of electricity and heat from renewable energies, and offers equity participation in these assets as a sustainable investment. Solarcomplex currently owns and operates more than 200 MW of PV capacity. Solarcomplex has been working with Amperecloud since 2020.

By switching to Amperecloud Platform and Log Solarcomplex succeeded in establishing a central system for the O&M of its assets that significantly reduces operating costs, lowers hardware failure rates, and enables a 70% increase in efficiency. Success factors include, among others, individually configurable dashboards for customers, automated monthly reports for investors, an intelligent alarm system down to string level, and interfaces to open data loggers.
Initial situation
High operating costs due to poor software quality
The biggest challenge for Solarcomplex was its fragmented IT infrastructure, which made it difficult to operate its highly heterogeneous portfolio of different plant sizes and types efficiently. The poor quality of the software in use impaired plant operation and maintenance. At the same time, neglected hardware meant that access to parks was blocked and faults in on-site components had to be located manually – a cost- and time-intensive process for Solarcomplex.
These challenges also made communication with investors more difficult, as reliable statements could not be guaranteed. Ultimately, all these factors led to high operating costs that could no longer be sustained as the portfolio scaled further.

The challenges were successfully addressed by switching to Amperecloud as a comprehensive all-in-one solution. Amperecloud Platform and the in-house data logger Amperecloud Log provide Solarcomplex with a central system for park control and reliable hardware. Thanks to fully customizable features and views, Amperecloud Platform enables Solarcomplex to operate its individual plants efficiently.
Accurate fault diagnosis & efficient deployment planningThe smart alarm system with intelligent alarm grouping and fault diagnosis down to string level simplifies fault detection directly from the control room. This enables targeted, efficient planning of maintenance deployments, so on-site troubleshooting is no longer necessary.
Individually configurable dashboardsTailored to each customer, the individually configurable dashboards and direct customer access ensure transparent communication.
Automated monthly reports:Reporting for investors has been optimized: automated monthly reports in the desired design replace time‑consuming manual processes and ensure smooth reporting.
Centralized O&M:Since all systems are brought together in one platform, all assets – whether PV or BESS, large or small, ground-mounted or rooftop installations – are centrally visible to Solarcomplex. This significantly simplifies O&M.
Interfaces of open data loggers:Amperecloud Log is VDE-AR-N 4110 certified and compatible with all common inverters, sensors, and meters. Thanks to its automatic configuration, it could be implemented without issues across all Solarcomplex plants. Combined with precise Monitoring, this led to the complete elimination of faulty hardware.

A central operating system for more than 550 plants
